Greenwood Press, 2000. ISBN 9780313311628. p. 225.〕 It was purchased in 1985 by James Hoover who was then publisher of the ''South End News'',〔("Jim Hoover, publisher of South End News; at 53" ). ''The Boston Globe'', Aprul 24, 2009.〕 and then sold to Jeff Coakley and Sue O'Connell in 2003.〔
In 2011, the paper acquired ''Golden Rainbow Times'', a monthly newsletter oriented toward LGBT senior citizens.〔("Bay Windows acquires monthly paper" ). ''The Boston Globe'', January 26, 2011.〕 The publication became a monthly insert in ''Bay Windows''.
